Bartonella IgM
Bartonella IgM refers to the presence of immunoglobulin M (IgM) antibodies against Bartonella bacteria in the blood. Bartonella is a type of bacteria that can cause a variety of infections in humans, including cat scratch disease, trench fever, and bartonellosis. IgM antibodies are produced by the immune system in response to an acute infection, and they are typically the first type of antibody produced in response to a new infection. A positive IgM test for Bartonella suggests that the individual is currently infected with the bacteria and their immune system is actively producing antibodies to fight the infection.
