Gastrointestinal (GI) Parasite Screen
The Gastrointestinal (GI) Parasite Screen is a specialised diagnostic test designed to detect the presence of intestinal parasites that can cause gastrointestinal disturbances and nutrient absorption issues. Parasites are organisms that live within the digestive tract, relying on the host for survival and often leading to symptoms such as diarrhea, bloating, abdominal pain, fatigue, and unexplained weight loss.
This screening helps identify parasitic infections early, supporting effective treatment and preventing chronic digestive complications. It is particularly useful for individuals experiencing persistent gastrointestinal symptoms, recent travel to high-risk areas, or exposure to contaminated food or water.
