Overview of Drug of Abuse Test

The drug of abuse test is a type of immunoassay designed to detect the presence of specific drugs in a urine sample.

Testing Principle

This test operates on the principle of competitive binding. In the presence of a drug, the substances in the urine compete with a drug conjugate for binding to specific antibodies.

How It Works

If a drug is present in the urine, it will bind to the antibody, reducing the binding of the drug conjugate. This interaction helps determine whether a particular drug is present in the specimen.

There is an additional £25 phlebotomy fee for every donation.
