Purpose of the Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT)

The Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT), also known as the glucose tolerance test, is used to assess how well the body metabolizes glucose and removes it from the bloodstream.

How the Test is Conducted

After a period of fasting, the individual is given a sugary solution to drink. Blood samples are then taken at intervals to measure the body’s response to the glucose intake.

There is an additional £20 phlebotomy fee for every donation.
