Histamine

What is Histamine

Histamine is a chemical produced and released by the body in response to allergens or tissue injury.

Role in Allergic Reactions

It plays a central role in the inflammatory response and contributes to common allergy symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and increased mucus production.

Effects on Blood Vessels

Histamine also causes blood vessels to widen (dilate), leading to redness and swelling commonly seen during allergic reactions.

There is an additional £25 phlebotomy fee for every donation.
