HLA A,B,C
The HLA genes are highly polymorphic, which means that there are many different variations of these genes in the human population. Each individual inherits two copies of each HLA gene, one from each parent, resulting in a unique HLA genotype for each person. HLA A, B, and C are particularly important in organ transplantation and tissue typing. Matching the HLA genes of the donor and the recipient can improve the success of transplantation by reducing the risk of rejection. HLA matching is also important in the diagnosis and management of autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, and certain types of cancer.
There is an additional £20 phlebotomy fee for every donation.
