Private IVF Blood Tests Near Me: Progesterone, LH & hCG Testing in Slough, Neasden & Victoria

If your fertility clinic has asked you to arrange your own bloods, you're not alone

If you're going through IVF or fertility treatment, it's common for your clinic to ask you to arrange certain blood tests independently often at short notice, and often around a specific day of your cycle or treatment protocol. Progesterone (PRG), luteinising hormone (LH) and hCG are three of the tests most frequently requested this way.

This guide isn't about what these hormones mean  for that, see our full Fertility Hormone Testing: Progesterone, LH & hCG Explained guide. This one is about getting the test done quickly, with results your fertility team can act on, at whichever of our three clinics is easiest for you: Slough, Neasden or Victoria.

Why fertility clinics ask patients to organise their own testing

IVF monitoring is time sensitive. A progesterone check might need to happen on a precise day of your cycle; an hCG test might need to happen exactly 14 days after transfer, regardless of whether your clinic has an in-house slot that day. Rather than have you wait for an appointment, many fertility clinics  including private IVF centres ask patients to get bloods done at an independent, accredited provider and send the results across.

That's exactly the gap we cover: no GP referral required, and appointments available same-day or next-day at all three of our clinics.

The tests IVF clinics most commonly request

A quick, practical rundown  for the full explanation of what each hormone does, see our hormone testing guide.

Progesterone (PRG) Often requested mid-cycle or during the luteal phase to check ovulation has occurred, or during early pregnancy monitoring after transfer. No fasting required. Results are typically available within 4-12 hours.

Luteinising Hormone (LH) Used to time ovulation or monitor stimulation protocols. Timing relative to your cycle matters, so bring any instructions from your fertility clinic with you we'll test to the schedule they've given you.

hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) Usually requested as a single test to confirm pregnancy after transfer, or as serial (repeat) tests 48 hours apart to check hCG is rising as expected. We can accommodate repeat testing across consecutive days at any of our three clinics.

All three tests are processed through our UKAS-accredited laboratory, and results are reviewed and can be issued in a format suitable for sharing directly with your IVF clinic or consultant.
