Calcium

A calcium blood test is a medical test that measures the level of calcium in the blood. Calcium is an important mineral that plays many important roles in the body, including building and maintaining strong bones, facilitating muscle and nerve function, and helping blood clot properly. The calcium blood test is often used to diagnose and monitor various medical conditions related to calcium levels in the body, such as bone disorders, kidney disease, and thyroid disorders. It can also be used to monitor the effectiveness of treatment for these conditions. Abnormal calcium levels in the blood can indicate a variety of medical conditions, such as hypercalcemia (high calcium levels) or hypocalcemia (low calcium levels).
