Chlamydia psittaci IgA

Chlamydia psittaci IgA is a type of antibody produced by the body's immune system in response to an infection with Chlamydia psittaci bacteria. C. psittaci is a type of bacteria that can cause a respiratory infection called psittacosis or parrot fever. It is typically transmitted to humans through contact with infected birds, particularly parrots, pigeons, and poultry. Testing for C. psittaci IgA antibodies can be useful in diagnosing an acute or recent infection with the bacteria. IgA antibodies are typically produced in response to an active infection, and they can be detected in the bloodstream within a few days of infection.
