Chlamydia psittaci IgG

Chlamydia psittaci IgG is a type of antibody produced by the body's immune system in response to an infection with Chlamydia psittaci bacteria. C. psittaci is a type of bacteria that can cause a respiratory infection called psittacosis or parrot fever. It is typically transmitted to humans through contact with infected birds, particularly parrots, pigeons, and poultry. Testing for C. psittaci IgG antibodies can be useful in diagnosing a past infection with the bacteria. A positive IgG result indicates that a person has been exposed to the bacteria at some point in the past and has developed immunity to it.
