Chlamydia psittaci IgM
Chlamydia psittaci IgM is a type of antibody produced by the body's immune system in response to an acute or recent infection with Chlamydia psittaci bacteria. C. psittaci is a type of bacteria that can cause a respiratory infection called psittacosis or parrot fever. It is typically transmitted to humans through contact with infected birds, particularly parrots, pigeons, and poultry. Testing for C. psittaci IgM antibodies can be useful in diagnosing an acute or recent infection with the bacteria. IgM antibodies are typically produced in response to a new infection, and they can be detected in the bloodstream within a few days to a few weeks of infection.
