Chlamydia trachomatis IgG is a blood test used to detect the presence of IgG antibodies to the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis. This bacterium is a common sexually transmitted infection that can cause a variety of symptoms, including genital discharge, pain during urination, and pelvic pain. IgG antibodies are produced by the immune system in response to an infection, and are typically detectable within a few weeks of initial exposure. The Chlamydia trachomatis IgG test is used to diagnose past or previous infections with this bacterium.
