Mercury

Mercury is a heavy metal that can be toxic to the body. Exposure to high levels of mercury can lead to a variety of health problems, including neurological and developmental issues. Mercury can be found in various forms, including elemental mercury (such as in thermometers), inorganic mercury (such as in dental fillings), and organic mercury (such as in certain fish). The primary route of exposure to mercury is through the ingestion of contaminated fish and shellfish. Large predatory fish, such as shark, swordfish, and king mackerel, tend to have higher levels of mercury than other fish. Symptoms of mercury toxicity can vary depending on the type and amount of mercury exposure. Common symptoms include tremors, memory problems, irritability, and anxiety.
