Mumps Virus IgM
Mumps IgM is a type of antibody that the body produces in response to an infection with the mumps virus. The presence of IgM antibodies indicates that the person has recently been infected with the mumps virus, as these antibodies are usually detectable in the blood within the first week or two of infection. Mumps is a viral infection that is spread through respiratory droplets, such as from coughing or sneezing. Symptoms of mumps can include fever, headache, muscle aches, tiredness, loss of appetite, and swollen and painful salivary glands.
