Protein Bence Jones

The Bence Jones protein test is a blood test used to detect abnormal light chain proteins in the blood, which may indicate multiple myeloma or other plasma cell disorders. Bence Jones proteins are abnormal light chain immunoglobulins that are produced by abnormal plasma cells and can cause kidney problems and other symptoms. The test is typically used in conjunction with other tests to diagnose and monitor the progression of multiple myeloma and other plasma cell disorders.
