Jo-1 Antibodies
Jo-1 Ab refers to an antibody that targets an enzyme called histidyl-tRNA synthetase, which is also known as Jo-1. This antibody is commonly associated with a type of autoimmune disease called polymyositis, which is characterized by inflammation and weakness of the skeletal muscles. In addition to polymyositis, Jo-1 antibodies are also sometimes found in individuals with dermatomyositis, another type of autoimmune disease that affects the skin and muscles.
